Description: | Black and white illustration on card signed and dated by the artist "UA.F.02" at lower left within the illustration, which depicts a young girl seated at the top of a wooden table alongside two smiling, barefoot young boys - they appear to be playing the singing game "one potato, two potato, three potato...". A small oil lamp rests at the end of the table, illuminating the room - a framed picture hangs on the wall, a dresser with mugs and stacks of plates are depicted in the left background while various garments hang on the wall. The room has a flag-stone floor. Written in black ink in manuscript hand underneath image is "Reduce to" with arrows either side [presumably an instruction to a printer or publisher]. [The artist George Fagan also often signed his name "Ua Fágáin" and 'S. Uí Fhágáin']. |
