George IV is depicted wearing a crown and ceremonial robe of crimson velvet, with gold braid and ermine; blue rosettes are attached to each shoulder which fasten at his neck with a gilt chain. He stands at the centre of the scene - shaking hands with Daniel O'Connell (who stands to his his left) and a gentleman who stands to his right [possibly Abraham Bradley King, former Lord Mayor of Dublin (1813, 1821) and Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland], who is also wearing a ceremonial robe, holding a bicorne hat under his arm and a long thin white stick [a masonic wand?].
