Dublin, where the streets are paved with rainbows once a year. Thousands march behind this giant rainbow flag in 2004 to mark the 30th anniversary of one of the first ever Pride events in Ireland – an 8 or 10 person demo outside the Department of Justice.

The image features a Rainbow Flag/Banner stretching along Parnell Square, Dublin, towards the Abbey Presbyterian Church in the distance. Eddie McGuinness made Ireland's longest Rainbow Flag/Banner from lengths of curtain lining fabric with Angela Nolan and Mary Judge in the premises of the Down to Earth Theatre Company on a small sewing machine. The flag was made for the launch of Free! Magazine (Ireland's second longest running gay magazine). The Rainbow flag was initially 100ft in length, over time this grew to 600ft. It was used in Dublin Pride parades from 2003 until 2009/10. The ‘Free!Dom’ Rainbow flag toured around Ireland to all the pride marches and parades from Cork to Limerick to Belfast, Eddie McGuinness still has 100ft of the Rainbow flag/banner and still travelling around Ireland to all the smaller pride parades. This was most recently used in Dundalk Pride 2021.
