Notes: | The letter is written on the headed notepaper of The Irish National League. It is signed by T.C. Harrington, although written by someone else. The Irish National League was founded by Parnell and succeeded the Land League, when the latter organisation was suppressed by the authorities. It campaigned on broader issues than the Land League, including Home Rule. Thomas Charles Harrington became the principal secretary of the new organisation.
