Notes: | Founded in September 1934 by Liam O’Leary, P. J. Fitzsimons and Sean O’Meadhra, there is a typewritten copy of a speech, given by Liam at an inaugural meeting on the purposes and aims of the Guild. The Guild produced a number of plays, provided lectures and training on and in theatre and exhibited some early classic films in its premises on St. Stephen’s Green, West. Contains letters, programmes, and invitations relating to joining the Guild and the showing of films in 1935-36.
Contains programmes, reviews, photos, an album of reviews, letters to the press and articles published in Irish Catholic accusing the Guild of propagating Soviet Propaganda in Ireland through the exhibition of the film 'Battleship Potemkin'.
