Includes letters from Downey to a Mrs. Manning of London, concerning local and family news and the death of a friend whose ship was torpedoed in Malta in 1917, to a Fr. Power, concerning accounts of mineral deposits in Co. Waterford (1933), to William Hill, relating to the Roberts family, the verso containing Hill's reply relating to his findings on the Roberts, a Quaker family of Ballygunner (1934), and an undated copy letter to the firm of Cox & Lafore, solicitors of London, in which Downey enquires about a mining company formed by Lord Ava in Co. Waterford.
