MS 42,331/1: 1st journal (March 11th to May 29th) has flowers pressed between a number of pages at the rear, including a note to state that it came from Pompeii in March 1881. Included are sketches of buildings and a list of the hotels that they stayed in. Inscribed "H. M. Deane Jr. / Dorset Lodge / Killiney / County Dublin / Ireland".
MS 42,331/2: 2nd journal (Sept. 30th 1882 - April 7th 1883) with the inscription "Henrietta Mary Dean / her journal (aged 18) / Sept. 24th 1882 / & nobody to read it. / So don't.".
