In Collection: Letters from George Bernard Shaw to various persons
Description:Shaw writes that he drafts all his works in shorthand which his secretary types out and the originals are destroyed before the proof goes to the printer. He has some early manuscripts left which he will donate to the library once they have been bound. He notes that he does not collect first editions or letters, writing "other people collect my letters. Keeping them is a mischievous habit. Dickens burnt all his at Gadshill very wisely".
