In Collection: Letters from George Bernard Shaw to various persons
Description:Shaw writes that it is not possible to send money to Ireland without a permit but hopes that his cheque will get through. He describes a previous issue when the postal authorities over-valued a book and taxed him heavily. He also writes that "the ecclesiastical ban is comparatively negligible, as the Church does not discover the existence of a book until, say, six months after it is sold out".
