Letter from Arthur T. Hadley to "Judge Howland" regarding his request that Hadley should meet Alice Stopford Green,
1904 Oct. 12.
Hadley writes that it would be a great pleasure to see Green but that he does not feel that it will be possible to interest the students of Yale University in the study Irish manuscripts. He also writes that his wife will be otherwise engaged and so it "prevent us from showing Mrs. Green the social courtesies which her husband's position - and her own - would make us anxious to render".
