The statement argues that in regards to the question of the Treaty "the best and wisest course for Ireland is to accept the Treaty", and laments the ongoing violence in Ireland, particularly in Belfast, and argues that Sinn Féin and Catholics in general are not to blame for the crimes in Northern Ireland.
