He writes of his arrival in Clare, campaigning for the Sinn Féin candidate Eamon de Valera, the local Sinn Féin organisation ('The enthusiasm on our side is terrific and the result is a forgone conclusion'), and the campaign efforts of their Nationalist opponent Patrick Lynch. |
