Title on note attached to verso of one copy continues "Mrs. MacSwiney, (left), widow of the Lord Mayor of Cork; Oswald Garrison Villard, Editor of "The Nation", centre) and Miss Mary MacSwiney, photographed in the office of "The Nation" after a luncheon tendered in honor of Mrs. MacSwiney by the employees of the publication. Before attending the luncheon Mrs. MacSwiney made her first shopping trip in New York. She visited many Fifth Avenue shops in the neighborhood of 34th Street. Almost every where she went she was recognized and the famous smile which has already won Mrs. MacSwiney a host of friends was very much in evidence. Mrs. MacSwiney and her sister-in-law leave for Washington to-morrow (Dec 7), to testify before the Commission for the Investigation of Conditions in Ireland". Includes note "Watch Your Credit Line 128663-International".
