Duffy writes of Larkin's candidature "It would appear that Councillor James Larkin has been made a Labour Candidate by methods of intimidation in defiance of the constituion." and of his withdrawal "As a member of the Party I feel I had no oprion but to withdraw my candidature as a protest against the disgraceful violation of the constitution that has taken place.".
