Incomplete draft letter by Joseph McGarrity to John H. Sims strongly arguing to defend Germany and the right of Ireland to be anti-English,
circa 1916.
McGarrity discusses the sinking of the Lusitania and suggests that if the United States were under threat, there would be no hesitation in sinking a similar vessel. He also argues that an independent Ireland would suit Germany, and that Great Britain "has made a Belgium of Ireland many times over".
