Photostat letter from John Devoy to Joseph McGarrity explaining why the meeting was called off,
1919 March 19.
John Devoy states that he did not hear from "Lake" and that the "quiet place Dick thought he could secure was not available". Also mentions that "Dick has recently been elected President of his company and has to stick close in order to make good among a lot of people who are not over friendly to us", adding that "his last absence was a great inconvenience to him". Devoy also hopes to see McGarrity on Friday.
