Sam Waddell, also known as Rutherford Mayne, expresses pleasure that someone [Ellerman?] is "taking on your play", writing that "no one that I know of, has ever written about Napper Tandy except one forgotten poet". He also refers to "an [old Colonel?] Napper Tandy who had a place in Co Meath", and his brother-in-law John Campbell.
