Description:Boland gives details of how the Collins faction broke the pact that had been hammered out with De Valera before the elections, gives the latest news of Republican friends and of Treatyites, states that the IRA "will treat the Free State Govt. exactly as they treated the British" and asks for help. Mentions "O'Kane", "Mrs. Pearse", "Mrs. De Valera" [Sinéad] and "Sears T O'Kelley". The second part of the letter, dated 27 July, is to inform McGarrity that he will not be able to attend the [Clan-na-Gael] Convention.
