Notes:In 1914 A.G. Wilson, an Irish policeman on assignment in South Africa, was on vacation travelling through Europe with his sisters when the First World War broke out and they were detained by the Germans, and became prisoners of war. In 1916 A.G. Wilson, who was interned at the Ruhleben Camp, became President of the Ruhleben Irish Players.
