Contains typescript drafts poems sent by Seamus Heaney to Dr. Bernard and Jane McCabe prior to their publication. Includes individual poems Heaney sent to the McCabes, some of which were subsequently published in journals and/or his poetry collections and typescript drafts of all the poems under consideration for inclusion in a number of his poetry collections (notably 'The Spirit Level' and 'Electric Light'), which Heaney forwarded onto the McCabes ahead of sending to his publishers. Also included are poetry broadsheets and programmes for events that contain Heaney's poems and, in some instances, also his manuscript dedications to the McCabes.
