Hamilton's report describes the condition of farm land, tenant housing and the agricultural practices prevalent in Lord Clifden's estate in Gowran, Goresbridge, Picketstown, Callan and Graigue, Co. Kilkenny and Brownstown, Co. Kildare. It also provides an assessment on the condition of his properities in Dublin. Reference is also made to the work of his various land agents and provides recommendations for improvements or changes that could be made to Clifden's estate.

Notes: | The report may have been compiled by Charles William Hamilton, and has been written out by his son Charles Robert Hamilton. Charles William Hamilton (1802-1880) was the eldest child of Charles Hamilton of Hamwood House, Co. Meath and Caroline Hamilton (née Tighe). He succeeded to the family estate of Hamwood following his father's death in 1857, and like his father, served as agent to both the dukes of Leinster, the Earl of Meath and his relative Daniel Tighe of Rossana, Co.
