Contains letters to Hamilton from Augustus FitzGerald, 3rd Duke of Leinster, and Charles FitzGerald, 4th Duke of Leinster, which relate for the most part to business, legal and family matters. Reference is made to both men receiving Hamilton's pamphlet 'On contracts between Landlord and Tenant in Ireland' in letters to him dated December 1865, to the wedding of Hamilton's eldest son Charles Robert Hamilton, and the illness and death of the 3rd Duke in 1874.

Notes:Charles William Hamilton (1802-1880) was the eldest child of Charles Hamilton of Hamwood House, Co. Meath and Caroline Hamilton (née Tighe). He succeeded to the family estate of Hamwood following his father's death in 1857, and like his father, served as agent to both the dukes of Leinster and his relative Daniel Tighe of Rossana, Co. Wicklow.
