II.iv.6. Letters to Charles William Hamilton of Hamwood, Co. Meath, from the poet Felicia Hemans,
1833-1834.
Hemans' letter are addressed to Hamilton in his Dublin home in Dominick Street and subsequently to him in Jermyn Street, London. Reference is made to social and literary matters, her hopes of publishing a book of songs and her continuing ill health. Included are fair copy autograph poems by Heman's entitled 'Night-blowing flowers', dated July 1833, 'Litany by the sick bed of a Child' and 'Fragments from the Iphigenia of Goethe', and a transcription, made by Hamilton, of her poem 'To the blue Anemone'.

Notes: | Charles William Hamilton (1802-1880) was the eldest child of Charles Hamilton of Hamwood House, Co. Meath and Caroline Hamilton (née Tighe). He succeeded to the family estate of Hamwood following his father's death in 1857, and like his father, served as agent to both the dukes of Leinster and his relative Daniel Tighe of Rossana, Co.
