Journal of Constance Leslie,
1896.
Constance Leslie's journal for 1896 which constitutes a response to Sir Algernon Wist's article in that year's The Nineteenth Century which aroused "a wish to supplement his article by a few postcripts from a woman's point of view". She writes "I only wish to record a few things, as far as a very fragmentary memory and no sustainedly kept journals will allow, a few of the social changes from my girlhood to the present grandmotherhood, the former as viewed by a youthful and not unobservant eye"; ca.100 pp.
