Personal papers of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Matthew Nathan that includes minutes from the Defence of the Realm Regulations Amendent Committee, formed after the 1916 Rebellion; minutes from the meeting of the informal conference on Irish transfer orders-in-council, with John Redmond and John Dillon in attendance; a typescript copy of a letter sent by Lloyd George to Sir Horace Plunkett relating to the Irish political situation; a report of the committee of alleged German outrages during the First World War. Various other political letters and receipts are included largely concerning his role as Under-Secretary for Ireland and the removal of his belongings from the Under Secretary's Lodge in the Phoenix Park following his resignation.
