Moya Llewelyn Davies was the daughter of James O'Connor, a former Fenian prisoner and MP for West Wicklow. She married Crompton Llewelyn Davies, a Welsh civil servant from a Christian Socialist background, who had been a friend of David Lloyd George in his early days. The couple befriended Michael Collins in 1918 and Crompton Llewelyn Davies advised Collins during the Treaty talks in 1921.
