C.W. Cole spent time in Ballinrobe, County Mayo. He was working as a special artist for the Graphic, reporting on the events relating to the Irish Land League in the west of Ireland in 1880. This image shows the inspection of the cavalry. The names Bedinsfeld, Tabor and Webster are inscribed in ink under title. They could be the names of the three soldiers or officers carrying out the inspection
