Notes:Richard Tickell, (1751-1793), was an English playwright and satirist. His first wife, the singer Mary Linley died young and he married his second wife, Sarah Ley, [later Worthington] in 1789. On 4 November 1793 he jumped from the parapet outside the window of his rooms at Hampton Court, London and died. In 1796 Sarah married a Major John Cotton Worthington of the Sussex Fencible Cavalry. Tickell's father was an Irish magistrate while his grandfather, Thomas Ticknell, (1685-1740), served as secretary to the Lords Justices of Ireland from 1724-1740; his house and estate in Glasnevin later became the site of the Botanic Gardens, Dublin.
