Georgette Ducrest, (1789-1882) was the daughter of Charles Louis du Crest, Marquis de Saint-Aubin, (1747-1824) whose sister was Madame de Genlis, (1746-1830). Born in London and a talented musician, in 1811 she married the harpist Nicolas Charles Bochsa, (1789-1856). They had two children but after a corruption scandal in 1817 he fled to London and he abandoned her, leaving her with debts. She moved to France, residing for a time in the neighbourhood where Joséphine de Beauharnais previously lived and she published her memories in 1828 in 'Mémoires sur l'impératrice Joséphine'.
