Summary: | 'Acta sanctorum veteris et maioris Scotiæ seu Hiberniæ, sanctorum insulæ' [‘The acts of saints of the older and greater Scotia, or Ireland, island of saints’] is commonly abbreviated to 'Acta sanctorum Hiberniae'; published in 1645, it is a collection of the acts of the Irish saints, written in Latin by John Colgan (who continued work begun by Aodh Buidhe Mac an Bhaird [Hugh Ward]). It covers those saints whose feast-days were believed to fall in January, February and March. |
