Description: Correspondence of Charles Powell Leslie II regarding the Monaghan Militia and his role therein, dated 1799-1806. Letters are largely from Dublin Castle and concern topics such as expenses (including Charles' personal expenses), clothing requirements, raising more forces, militia duties, internal promotions, appointments and resignations, difficulties faced by the Militia and complaints raised against officers. Also contains: a plan for brigading certain corps of yeomanry in the North; a copy of clothing regulations for Colonel Leslie, dated 1805; a copy of general orders, dated July 1803; plus warrants, notices and circulars.
