Summary: | Membership card [fragile and somewaht distressed] for the Loyal National Repeal Association for Mr. Peter O'Hara; numbered in manuscript hand lower right of card: '22503'. At head of card is a quotation dated 15 February 1782 by the Dungannon Volunteers. Illustration on card depicts the map of Ireland with two flags either side, one bearing the words 'Catholic, Protestant, Dissenter, quis separabit?' Two colums at borders of card have information and facts concerning Ireland (and compare it with other European countries). At foot of card is printed a quotation by William Saurin - 'You may make the Union a law but you cannot make it binding on conscience'. |
