Summary:Invitation (framed with a highly decorative floral border) to Jasper Robert Joly to view a painting of the marriage [that took place in St George's Chapel, Windsor] of Princess Alexandra of Denmark (1844-1925) to Albert Edward, then Prince of Wales [the future King Edward VII] by the artist and illustrator Mr. George Housman Thomas (1824-1868), in Messrs. Hodges, Smith & Company's premises at 104, Grafton Street, Dublin. 'The Marriage of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, 10 March 1863', [oil on canvas, painted according to the Royal Collection Trust website before 2 May 1864 by Housman, who was commissioned to do so] was acquired by Queen Victoria in 1869 from from the estate of Day and Son, who produced and sold colour chromolithograph copies of the image.
