Summary:Engraved blank membership card (printed in green coloured ink) issued by the Irish Repeal Association, Savannah, Georgia, with spaces left to be filled in, in manuscript hand. An American egale is depcited at top of card, wings outstretched; his tallons rest on a crown of laurel leaves, through which are placed two flagpoles - one bears the flag of the United States of America while the other is of the printed with a sunburst, the Gal Gréine [which featured on banners and flags of those associated with the Fenian movement and late the IRB and the Volunteers]. Within his beak is a ribbon, which unfurls, and has the words "Irish Repeal Association" written on it. At bottom left of card is the female figure of Justice, holding a sword in one hand and a balance of scales in the other, a shield with the stars and stripes of the American glaf feature on the shield. At bottom right of the card is the figure of Hibernia [or Erin], representing Ireland; she rests one arm on a harp, a wolfhound lies in front of her at her feet, while there is a profusion of shamrocks growing int he grass under their feet. A round tower is depicted in the background.
