In Collection: Collection of caricatures, mainly set in Dublin
Description: Lettered with title 'The Orderly Room, The Tenth against the Field M-------- [Marshall]'. Lacking publication line. This caricature depicts eight soldiers from the cavalry regiment The Tenth Royal Hussars seated in a room - seven are seated around a long table, on which there are five glass decanters filled with wine and several full wine glasses; one soldier stands, as though he has just arisen from his chair and twirls his moustache while another sits on a chair in the left middle ground, holding a broadside that reads "Appointment / War Office / Battalion...York". In the right foreground is an oval mahogany brass bound wine cooler in which four bottles can be seen. One of the soliers appears to be purposing a toast, holding his wine glass aloft. One of the regiment remarks, (in a speech bubble): "where ought the Commander of a Regiment be when advancing towards the Enemy?" Another replies "To the Rear to be sure!" while another comments "where ought he be in Retreat?", with another remarking "Why two miles in Advance".
