Summary: | Lettered with title 'Soldiers on a March. To pack her tattlers and follow the Drum' with the publication line ''Publishd by Sidebotham Sackville St.'. The caricature depicts soldiers assisting women and children in crossing a river in a landscape surrunded by trees though in the midst of the group in the right foreground a woman (wearing a dress with a revealing bodice) is carrying a soldier on her shoulders. The woman walking immediately in front of her, who cradles her small child strapped in a sling to her and another child on her back, steps on her foot while the soldier in the foreground carries a large drum strapped to his chest while his knapsack has a label on it that reads 'O La Buff'. The head of a duck (or goose) hangs in front of another bag attached to his waist, alongside an offset spiked socket bayonet. In front, a dog trotts through the river holding a small bundle in his mouth.
