Summary:Poster advertising the 1956 film adaptation of Herman Melville's novel 'Moby Dick, directed by John Huston with a screenplay by Huston and Ray Bradbury. Many of the exterior scenes set in New Bedford in the film were in fact shot on location in Youghal, Co. Cork, with the 19th century lighthouse in Youghal featuring in a scene where the Pequod goes out to to sea at sunset. Several Irish actors featured in supporting roles, most notable Noel Purcell [Patrick Joseph Noel Purcell, (1900-1985)], as the ship's carpenter.
