Summary:This production featured a very well-known cast - amongst them the Irish tenor Michael Kelly (1762-1826), soprano Anna Selina Storace, [known as Nancy Storace], (1765-1817) and singer and stage actress Anna Maria Crouch (1763-1805), the well-known Shakespearean actor John Bannister (1760-1836) and the actor and comedian Richard "Dicky" Suett (1755 or 1756-1805). At the time of this production in 1791, Anna Maria Couch was having an affair with Michael Kelly and the Prince of Wales, (while he was living with Maria Anne Fitzherbert). 'The Siege of Belgrade', referred to at the foot of this playbill, was a comic opera in three acts, principally composed by Nancy's brother Stephen Storace (1762-1796) [also responsible for composing 'The Haunted Tower'] to an English libretto by James Cobb, (1756-1818). It first premiered on 1 January 1791 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, featuring Nancy Storace, Anna Maria Crouch, Michael Kelly, John Bannister and Richard "Dicky" Suett amongst the ensemble.
