Letter from Maria Pollen [?] to Mary Hutton,

[19??] Oct. 1.
Bibliographic Details
Main Creator: Pollen, Maria Margaret, -1919
Contributors: Hutton, Mary, 1862-1953
Summary:Pollen thanks Mrs. Hutton for her letter and appreciation of the book sent. She talks about the unnamed author of the book [perhaps her daughter?], who has spent 32 years in a convent.
In collection: Mary Hutton Papers, 1884-1942.
Format: Manuscript
Language:English
Notes:The letter is presumed to be from Maria Pollen. The writer has given the day and month, but not the year of writing. This has been added in pencil by another hand as 1920, so either the identification of the writer or the year is incorrect.

Maria Pollen was the widow of John Hungerford Pollen (1820-1902), the architect, artist, and author. He designed the University Church in St. Stephen's Green, Dublin. Maria Pollen published 'Seven Centuries of Lace'. The book in question may be 'Mother Mabel Digby' published in 1914 by Anne Pollen.
