Notes: | The letter is written on the distinctive headed notepaper of Thomas Dolan's Family Grocer's in Ardee. The heading is in Irish and English. Joseph Dolan was a businessman and local activist, who co-founded the Louth Historical and Archaeological Society in 1903, and edited its journal until his death.
