Summary:Card designed for the Cuala Press, Cuala number 59 by Dorothy Blackham featuring an original hand coloured wood block print entitled 'Straws in the thatch' of thatched cottages, with a smaller image printed underneath of a boiling teapot, placed on sods of turf. Lines printed on card in bold black Cló Gaelach font are: ‘Nach lia broth dín 'san toigh nó fáilte rómhat' [which, translated roughly from Irish means, "You are as welcome as the number of straws on a thatched roof"]. Printed on verso [p. 4] of card "Hand coloured card / Cuala Press Dublin / Ireland. No. 59". Written in manuscript hand on inside of card is a message in Irish from Néilí Ní Dúilaing to Douglas Hyde, dated "Nodlaig [December] 1945".
