Summary: | Egan writes about family and friends, asking to be remembered to various people. He says he hopes to be able to come home soon, but business keeps him away. He says that when he was lately in Paris he stayed at the house of Marie-Thérèse, Princesse d'Isenghien, daughter of the Duc d'Humières. She asked many questions about why James II had promoted Tyrconnel so quickly to be Vice-Roy of Ireland, as he been merely a valet de chambre to James, when James was Duke of York. Egan records all that he said in defence of Tyrconnel's pedigree and abilities. |
