Notes:Peter James Behan worked as a Superintendent in the GPO and also as a British spy. When the British authorities tried counter espionage, they went to Patrick M. Moynihan not realising he was already spying for Michael Collins. Behan had secret telephone installed in his desk which he used for ringing the British military to warn them of IRA raids on the post. In 1922 Behan was served an order to leave the country. He tried to get established under the Irish Free State, claiming that he had been set up by someone in the IRA who had a personal vendetta against him. He failed in his bid and remained exiled.
