Summary:A transcription of the original item at MS 37/20. Notes:A note records that the original letter (dated Corke 10th June 1690) was given to Sir Robert Southwell by the Earl of Scarborough three days after the Battle of the Boyne, having been taken from Tyrconnel.

The Earl of Limerick was appointed to the Irish privy council in May 1686 and became colonel of a regiment of dragoons. He left Ireland after the Battle of the Boyne.
