[Ciaran Byrne] Glór na nGael.
Summary: | Undated poster designed Ciaran Byrne, a first year pupil at La Salle School when he won the Glór na nGael Schools Poster Competition sponsored by Tee-Pee Sports and Andersonstown News. The poster features a cartoon image directly inspired by the Merrie Melodies cartoon characters of Tweetie Pie and Sylvester The Cat - the illustration features the image of a bird hatching out of an egg, with a speech bubble coming from his mouth with the words "Shil mé go bhfáca mé puddy kat! [I thought I saw a puddy cat!]"; behind him, appearing over a wall is a cat, with a thought bubble over his head - he is dreaming of roasted bird for dinner. A profusion of shamrocks also feature on the sheet. |
