The notebook contains information on the origins of place names in Co. Antrim. A coverning note at the beginning of the volume is written by Leslie Stevenson, Rector of Larne.
A number of loose inserts located in the volume are available at MS 50,469. These include five pages of notes on Co. Antrim placenames, a photograph of carved stones found in Glenarm churchyard (the photograph was originally housed in an annotated envelope pasted into the notebook) and a photograph of a stone carving which was originally pinned to a page containing notes on the parish of Tichmacrevan.
