Summary:Contained are press clippings taken from the society pages of journals, magazines and newspapers, reporting on society events and attendees, portraits of women from the British and Irish aristocracy (among them Lady Carew), reports on the death of Queen Victoria and coronation of Edward VII and a description of the gardens at the Carew's estate at Castleboro, Co. Wexford. Ephmeral items, including menus, guest lists for dinners and invitations are also attached. The volume is annotated throughout by Lady Carew.


The album also includes original photographs, for the most informal photographs of Lady Carew and her friends at house parties. Included are photographs Lady Carew, Lord Charles Beresford, Viscount Doneraile and others at Castletown (1897), playing croquet and tree planting at Castle Bow (Sept. 1898), Lady Carew and others at Castletown (Aug. 1899), an outdoor gathering at Castleboro (Aug. 1899) and Lord Robert Carew with his dog at Castleboro (Aug. 1899).
