Summary:Handbill advertising an anti-conscription meeting to be held in the Mansion House, Dublin on 14 December, 1915. Both Patrick Pearse and Eoin McNeill were amongst those who spoke at this meeting which was chaired by Eoin MacNeill. He proposed a motion to the meeting - ‘We won’t have conscription’ which was passed unanimously. With NLI date stamp of 16 Jan. 1933 on recto and written in manuscript hand at right of sheet: "Note Salutation (a poem by 'AE' [George Russell] typed on reverse". On verso in purple faded typescript are five verses of 'Salutation' [this poem has seven verses and is also known as 'Salutation: To the Memory of Some I Knew Who are Dead and Who Loved Ireland'] by George William Russell (A.E), (1867 - 1935), written in December 1917 as a lament for those who had died or were imprisoned following the 1916 Rising.
