| Summary: | Letters sent to the playwright Máirín Cregan, concerning productions of her play 'Hunger Strike'. Included is a rejection slip from the Abbey Theatre, a letter from Lady Gregory, concerning the Theatre's turning down the play, letters from Paul Farrell, written from Dublin and London, requesting an option to produce the play in London, the publishers M. H. Gill & Sons concerning the play's publication and sale, Mary Manning, of the Irish Women's Worker's Union, writing on behalf of a company of players drawn from trade union members who were seeking rights to produce the play, Daniel Corkery, concerning possible improvements to the text and the historian Fr. John H. Cullen, written from Hobart, Tasmania. Also included is a letter from Tomás Ó Maoláin to Radio Athlone, congratulating the station on a recently broadcast production of 'Hunger Strike' (6 May 1936). |
