Letter from Samuel Gatchell to James Scott Molloy,

The letter is written from Rathangan and is addressed to Mr. Molloy at 102 Capel Street, Dublin. Gatchell says he hopes to have the 'September Gale' (that is rent) paid by the tenants over the next two months. He refers to the damage caused by the 'late awful & destructive hurricane'.
6th January 1839 was the Night of the Big Wind. It was considered to be the worst storm to hit Ireland for several hundred years. James Scott Molloy was a solicitor.
